Areas of Focus

Depression

If you live with depression, I know that it can seem like your situation can’t improve. You might feel unmotivated, always tired, unable to properly voice how you feel. Working through these emotions isn’t easy, and takes time, but I am here to help you engage with these thoughts in a compassionate way and understand their current role in your life. By doing this with me on a weekly basis, you can start to view yourself in a more positive light.

Anxiety

I am experienced in working with anxiety of all kinds. You might feel constantly overwhelmed, catastrophise over certain issues, experience panic attacks, have a phobia, or struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Anxiety comes in many different forms, and I know how hard it is to live with that relentless sense of unease – like a fire alarm going off in your head when there’s no fire. In a way that is comfortable for you, we will look to understand your anxiety triggers and develop ways for you to keep them under control in the future.

Relationships

You might want to make sense of past or present relationship problems so you can have peace of mind and move on with your life. Relationships matter enormously: they are a foundation of health and security, so our therapeutic relationship is deeply important. I take care to make sure you feel comfortable to speak openly with me. We examine your past, especially childhood, to make sense of how these experiences inform the way you behave in the present moment. Doing this allows us to see how the same problems in old relationships are repeated in new ones, enabling you to break the loop and foster healthier connections going forward.

Young People’s Issues

I know that young people have to face so many unique challenges. That path from childhood to adulthood is not a smooth one, especially in today’s isolating social media climate. The online world we have created can feel like an addiction for teenagers, leading to anxiety and low self-esteem, given the way they compare themselves to others online. I am here to provide compassionate, personalised support for the wide array of issues young people face, which could include:

Self-harm

Bullying

Stress and anxiety

Panic attacks

Identity issues

Low self-esteem

Body dysphoria

Eating disorders

Friendship/ relationship issues
